Root barrier export to Australia
Root barrier for Western Australia
We exported a 20 ft container of root barrier to a large garden contractor in Western Australia. The product is installed underground to stop root growth, because spreading roots can damage nearby foundations and hardscape.
Specification supplied
The supplied root barrier was 1 mm thick black virgin HDPE sheet, available in 50 cm, 70 cm, 100 cm and 150 cm heights and 50 m lengths. Virgin HDPE gives the barrier excellent elongation and tensile strength.
Built to be buried
Because a root barrier is set vertically in the soil and then buried, it has to withstand puncture and the corrosive environment around growing roots. Made from virgin HDPE, it is designed for a very long underground service life.
Packaging and supplier support
Packaging uses two layers: an inner PE film that protects the surface from scratches, and an outer green woven bag that guards against transport damage and light. As the customer was entering the root-barrier market for the first time, we supported them through samples and specification advice over an extended period until they placed a confident first order.
